In 1981 he moved to Paris,<\/p>\n<p>where he studied with Gilles Deleuze and Michel Foucault.<\/p>\n<p>From 2004 to 2008 he was director of the Deichtorhallen \u2013House of Photography and Contemporary Art in Hamburg.<\/p>\n<p>from 2008 to 2012 director of the Art and Exhibition Hall of the Federal Republic of Germany in Bonn.<\/p>\n<p>Since 2012 he has been teaching at the Kunstakademie D\u00fcsseldorf as a professor for &#8220;Art and the Public&#8221;, and is currently the Prorector at the D\u00fcsseldorf Art Academy (as of 2020).<\/p>\n<\/div><\/section>\n<div
